2006, my husband Thaddeus and I (Kelly) embarked upon the adventure of a lifetime. I visited the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas. While visiting I found a house that I thought was perfect for our new adventure to convert an old Victorian into a Bed and Breakfast. I made an offer contingent upon my husband’s inspection and approval. I returned home to San Diego and my husband came out to Hot Springs. After he inspected the house, he called to let me know that the foundation was not acceptable. I asked Thaddeus to find us a home in Hot Springs.
That was the beginning of a love affair, consuming our lives. My husband bought a house that I fell in love with from a photograph. This is the first glimpse I had of our future home. Thaddeus e-mailed me a picture and bought it on the spot. After he returned, we sold our home of fifteen years and left with three semi trucks, two dogs, two cats and a dream of what could be.
Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast is a wonderfully inviting Southern home situated in historical Hot Springs, Arkansas. Bella Vista is tucked away only one block from historical downtown and Bath House row. A beautiful glimpse of Hot Springs National Park can be seen from the windows of the carriage house. In the evenings, you can hear the horse and carriage as it passes by in front of the house.
Walk downtown and read the history of Hot Springs on the plaques imbedded on the sidewalks along Main Street. Take a few hours to visit the Bath Houses for a totally memorable and revitalizing experience. Browse the art galleries, antique shops and specialty shops. You can meander through the local park or visit our farmer’s market. Take a ride on the duck or jump into a horse-drawn carriage for a ride through Whittington Park or whittle away the day at the Mid-America Museum.
The Carriage House offers two suites. Magnolia and Fuschia are the suites available at this time. The main house is under restoration and estimated completion date is 2013.
